Thank You Allah (2) - Umrah

Bismillahirrahmanirrahim,

Finally I gathered myself together to come and share about my first experience of performing umrah <3

Where to start? what to tell?

We set off from Madinah around 3 p.m, stopped by Bir Ali to do our meeqat for umrah...continued journey...stopped at a "RnR" in the middle of the dessert to perform Jamak taqdim Maghrib+Isya' and our journey continued until we reached Makkah Al-Mukarramah. It was about 10 p.m and the bus did pass by Masjidil Haram when it made a U-turn to our accommodation. I was tired [due to the longgg and slow bus ride] but excited at the same time.

After getting our room keys, had dinner and freshened up [without breaking the pantang larang for people in "ihram"], we gathered at the lobby for one purpose, to perform our umrah. Each step closer to masjidil haram meant a step closer to finally witness kaabah. Our entrance was at Gate 9 "Babul Malik Abdul Aziz". The crowd was massive but my focus was only one, kaabah, kaabah, kaabah. Finally, I saw it! Alhamdulillah

Mesmerized. Labbaikallahumma labbayk...

Our mutawif guided us of where to start our tawaf so off we went. The beginning of tawaf was at the green light [the light is obvious, you won't miss it :)]. On our left side was the door of kaabah. This is where we should wave and recite "Bismillahi Allahu Akbar" . After finishing tawaf, we performed the 2 rakaat sunat prayer and then it was sa'ee time.

I was quite surprised to see such a modernized sa'ee place. Our sa'ee finished around 3 a.m and we ended our ihram with tahallul.

Day 3 and 4 were spent visiting historical places that took place during the time of the prophets, places for Haji and last but not least, the camel farm! [which lead me to high fever for one whole day!]

I admit that I didn't fully utilize my time there to be at the mosque most of the time and I regret it. Hopefully I will get the chance to visit and at that time, I want to be close to Him as much as possible. InshaAllah.

Although everything  [nice and unpleasant] was unforgettable, I just wanted to share this sweet memory that I experienced there. You see, Makkah at that time was excruciatingly hot due to summer season and I wasn't fond of hot weather because I always end up with a terrible headache [simptom puteri lilin...hoho] but Allah's miracle, I did not experience it at all. Second thing was, you can just ask for anything you want and you'll see how your prayers will be answered  [ I can't share with you what it was but for me, it was a gift from Allah]. Thirdly, due to the hot weather, I thought it wasn't very comfortable to do tawaf sunat but I was wrong. So so wrong.

See the two rows of green carpet? If you step on it, obviously it was hot but miraculously once you step at the marmar, you feet automatically will not feel any hotness at all. I thought I was dreaming so I asked my mother and sisters and they all said the same. Guess that is Allah's aid for us to perform our ibadah there comfortably. Even while making my tawaf rounds, I felt the sense of breeziness eventhough I was surrounded by so many people. I felt so ashamed that I sin a lot but He still made sure that I was comfortable enough. Alhamdulillah.

During our last day there, we had a mixed feeling. One was the excitement of returning back to Malaysia but at the same time, we were sad to leave behind those precious moments, kaabah, the Holy Land.

My prayers still continue....

Allah answered one of my prayers, which was to secure a job after raya in K.L  [but He gave advancement to me ^^.....but not in k.l ] and I hope He will answer my other prayer which is to pursue my dream in.......[sssshhh]

Despite some trials that tested our patience, everything else was beautiful, magical and mesmerizing. I can't describe more than that.

Bellow are some pictures not in order :)

jabal rahmah. Many of my friends kirim doa here :)

My life as a translator

Bismillahirrahmanirrahim,

It's been a while since I wrote anything specific about my working life per say. If I browse back to my earliest entries,I did mention of  writing about my work every now and then.

Well, here goes.

It's nothing much or interesting. Not a popular work like being a doctor, engineer, accountant, economist, lecturer, teacher, excetera2.

People who wishes fame shouldn't enter this field because it doesn't give you fame.

If you wish for a good night sleep during bedtime, then you shouldn't consider this field also.

I'm not sabotaging or degrading this job but I have to give a sneak peak of what to expect.

Frankly speaking, at first I really loved being employed as a translator because of the jobscope that doesn't require me to deal with...ermmm...PEOPLE?

But then,I got bored and stressed out. I'm actually an In-House translator. Whaddaya mean In-House? It means I work from home/at home.

My means of communication with my colleagues are through SKYPE and OUTLOOK email. NO,not calling2...just typing2  [glad for that!]

Colleagues are scattered in Egypt,Japan,UK and I'm not sure where else but throughout the world lah. So, we could identify the first mishap, DIFFERENT TIMEZONE

My official working hours should be, 9-6 but actually it goes way beyond that. I'm not saying they [superiors] are pressuring me to work late at night but the situations make it to happen so. My friends get weird when I'm quite active in fb in the morning and then I say, today I had to sleep at 3-4 AM. During the active moments in fb would be the time I don't have any tasks to do at all. I always receive tasks during late evening or night time because in their respective countries, it's still early in the morning.

I'm a very responsible and dedicated employee  [cewahhh masuk bakul seh!!] and I don't do fbs, tumblrs and what not whilst working. If they give me late tasks, the deadline for submission would suffice me to finish it in the morning but I'm not the kind who can sleep peacefully thinking I have something pending. I'm just weird like that T_T

So,what do I do as a translator?

I translate, of course!hahaha...No really, I kid you not.

I translate from BI-MALAY-BI [depends]

If not translating,I'd be reviewing/editing other translators works. Something I help around with the Malay contacts. I have translated for some big and well known companies...awal2 dlu memang cuak tau! Among them would be Nokia,Samsung,HP,Sony, yang lain2 cheq lupa. It also requires me to do a LOT of researching via the internet to see whether a word I'm using is used correctly in that specific manner.

No I don't translate leisure story books or novels.I translate formal and specific terms, which makes it more difficult and challenging T_T

Hmm..what more what more?

The pay is OK lah for a newbie like me plus I work from home so I save transport and food expenses, alhamdulillah after a few months,I got my baby Suhaan =)

But to consider it as a long term work...not really...I kinda miss socializing with people eventhough I'm shy in nature [omaigod wTfish?] plus my parent wants me to have a work that has more employee benefits.

Imagine if I want to be a lecturer??? the world would break into two! I won't believe it myself..hahaha

It has been 7 months already....How time flies by, I'm proud of myself  [who else wants to be proud of me T_T] because I didn't rely on anyone [kronies] to get this job. I'm grateful to Allah because he settled me with a nice job for my first official job after graduating, Alhamdulillah  =)....I'm thankful to my parents though I know they want me to work elsewhere, they never pressured me in doing so and they supported my decission. I'm one stubborn homosapien  :P

What I've gained from this job? Priceless experiences of handling communication with superiors, using challenging translation tools like SDXL,TRADOS,WORDFAST,DEJAVU,etc2, searching for words via online dictionaries/hardcopies, dealing with challenging specific terms/jargons especially involving MEDICAL and MONEY terms  [ berpeluh bulu mata ok!]....I also gained eye power  [SAYA SI BUTA], frequent headaches but in the end, it's all worth it =)

I may be complaining every now and then....but deep down inside, I love my job!  =)

I think everyone should love their jobs...because Allah made it happen for us and whatever happens to us, will turn out GOOD eventually =)

What a long rant,am I right or wrong?

Okay okay....I'm almost done.

FINISH.

DID ANYONE WAS ABOUT TO DIE OUT OF BOREDOM AFTER READING THIS LONG POST?

Haha....pitiyu

I still have a long journey to go and I pray that whatever I do, may Allah bless me,ameen

p/s: I didn't take time to browse through any grammatical errors...pardon me any language experts reading this, too tired to read back :p  [ tulis xpenat :p]

'IBU BAPA BUKAN LIABILITI'

PETIKAN : 'NOTA HATI SEORANG LELAKI' Oleh Pahrol Mohd Juoi

Ini adalah cerita benar. Cerita benar seorang penulis yang berjaya. Beginilah kisahnya...

"Emak, ayah asyik minta duit.

Ayah selalunya tersenyum menerima pemberian saya. 10 tolak 5, saya masih 'untung' 5 ringgit. Geli hati mengenangkannya.

Begitulah selalunya tahun demi tahun.

Wang saya dahulukan kepadanya.

"Kenapa, dah kaya?" usik ayah. Namun, duit dikocek anak tetap diselitkannya.

Masin sungguh mulut ayah. Tidak sampai tiga tahun, kami bertukar kereta. Di samping menulis, saya menjadi penerbit. Perniagaan semakin rancak.

Tetapi dia MEMBERI KERANA ALLAH.

Lakukanlah sahabat, lakukannya jika ditakdirkan ibu ayah kita meninggal dunia.

Saya menangis apabila ada sahabat saya menceritakan bagaimana ibu kepada Tuan Guru Dr Harun Din meninggal dunia. Bacalah wahai sahabat, pengalaman Dr Harun Din dan keluarganya.

Jiran kpd ibu Dr Harun Din (DrHD) menziarah ibunya pada waktu petang selepas asar. Beliau memberi salam tetapi tak bersahut salamnya.Beberapa kali salam diberikan tetapi tak ada jawapan. Maka jirannya itu mencari ruang mencari ibu DrHD, akhirnya terlihat ibunya sedang sujud dalam solat. Lalu jiran ini balik ke rumah dahulu. Beberapa minit kemudian, datang semula berjumpa ibu DRHD, dilihatnya masih sujud.

Perkara yang paling comel yang dilakukan keluarga DrHD ialah,menyempurnakan dengan tangan-tangan anak-anak jenazah ibunya. Mandikan ibu, kapankan ibu, sembahyangkan ibu dan kebumikan tanpa diusik orang lain ke atas tubuh ibunya. Ada jiran-jiran yang ingin melakukannya tetapi ditolak oleh Dr Harun Din, Hasan Din dan Ishak Din dengan hujah,"BERILAH SAYA SEKELUARGA PELUANG MEMBUAT KHIDMAT YANG TERAKHIR UNTUK IBU". Ketika hujah itu diberikan, seluruh masyarakat yang hadir melinangkan air mata kerana tawaaduk dan alimnya anak-anak ibu itu. Paling menyayatkan hati masyarakat adalah apabila ketiga-tiga adik beradik ini iaitu Harun Din,Hasan Din dan Ishak Din turun sendiri ke lubang lahad mengebumikan jenazah ibunya. Ada beberapa orang yang hadir, memohon dan berkata;

Wallahu A'lam.
Baca, hayati, selami dan insafi. Amalkan. Sesungguhnya doa ibu bapa amat mustajab. Bahagia dunia akhirat.

I LOVE YOU BOTH, AYAH and MAMA   <3

Ya Allah, jadikanlah aku anak yang diredhai ibubapaku kerana RedhaMu terletak dalam redha mereka, ameen

kaf-ba-rho-ka-ta-nun

Being an adult is a very challenging responsibility. The tasks shouldered by our parents are now passed down to us [in the sense of experience]. This goes more specific when you are already in the working field.

You go to school, go to college, get a degree [anything equivalent] and you start hunting for jobs. Then, there's the reality of earning your salary and how to spend and save it wisely.

I grew up seeing people around me with different modes of managing their salary. Some just spend it like in a jiff and in the middle of the month, they are already broke. Some are wiser and know how much to spend and how much to save  [ya know for the future]. I see best in people who give some to others what they earn because they know, what they have been given, they should share some with others. And in this matter, giving some to their parents. It's not the amount that counts, it's the THOUGHT. I remember a phrase by Muhammad Adif's mom in "Dunia Baru"  [yes I know,lame...bahaha] where she keeps saying "kaf-ba-rho-ka-ta-nun", translated as "keberkatan" in Malay or "blessings" in English.

I strongly hold to that.

I have a very good close reference on this matter. My late pakngah [al-fatihah], he didn't earn that much but he managed the whole month for his family with his little pay and still managed to have some money left by the end of the month. His secret was: he never failed to give money to my grandparents every month. Not that they demanded it but he knew his duty and for that, his salary was blessed by Allah...

On the contrary, I also knew a particular person who earns like,A LOT but never gave a little of his LOT to his parents while they were still alive and his money was never enough.Always had to borrow here and there.

So,what's left to me was I just had to chose which one that is better.

I am still new to this working and earning salary thingy but I've always remembered those two of a few examples and without my parents demand, I managed to give some to my parents. Not that much but it gives me pleasure by doing so.

And if one day, if I am suddenly ALONE No More [ya know what I mean...bahaha], I will still keep on doing the same thing  [ working is a must for me, I can't do nothing,I'll die! ] <---blame Shakespeare for my hyperbole-ness

Oh no! I'm ranting aren't I? better stop now.

So ladies and gentlemen of the jury. In whatever you do, whatever you earn, remember, you still need "kaf-ba-rho-ka-ta-nun", OK? clear?

Allah's blessings are from our parents blessings. Bi'iznillah =)

If you wanna share some with me also can mah,LOL  *kecil tapan tangan, nyiru saya tadahkan* <--kecil ke?

[ok,kidding ja....hoho]

motivation

I find that, in order to keep one's self motivated in doing anything [say:studying, working, etc], we should have something to look forward to. I have been so demotivated lately and I stick with the -I am my OWN motivator- motto. So, that's just what I did.

you can watch it on youtube if you are interested. Got English subtitles too =)

For example:

lack of motivation to do work, to study or be in a particular position  [senang cerita, nak quit lah]

what we should do??: aim something as a distraction/motivation. Like aiming to meet up with bestfriends, watch a movie after work [ I watched 3 Idiots, works everytime....hehehe], go buy delicacies, read a book, call mum, read motivational stuffs, read the Quran, seek for people's motivational words  [who knows you might be inspired with the given words ] or planning a vacation trip with besties....hoho

I can't guarantee it is a success for EVERYone but it won't hurt if you try, right? =)

inshaAllah~~

motivational enough found in tumblr =)

I will have a whole week worth of motivation because my family's coming to spend the school holidays with me....though I will be working but at least I won't have to cook for myself, bahahaha oh I so miss mama's cooking ^____^

A baby girl is...
eyes that mesmerize,
drawing all time, energy and focus
to her unique attractions.
Smiles and giggles,
bringing more thrills,
pleasure and satisfaction
than any amount of money can buy.
Sweet, soft,
feminine baby fragrance...
inhaled happiness.
Growing, changing,
in your eyes appearing
more beautiful every day,
your baby girl is all that,
and so much more.

Crapping

So tomorrow my family are coming. I am so uberly excited! See, the thing is, when I was all alone in Malaysia when they weren't here, I wasn't that psyched up. Well, mostly because I was still a uni student. With my friends,so whenever I felt lonely, I'd just hang out with them or atleast I go and repent spend my time at SHAS MOSQUE Lev 2 or go to the TV area at my Mahallah or go kacau my neighbouring dorm mates. Atleast I'm with another soul ya know? But,this time around, the case is different. My friends are all over Malaysia and mostly have started working, married, busy with their studies excetera2. Working life and study life, both have their similarities in terms of giving my so-called commitment. But, the difference is, I have no friends to hang out with anymore. In this situation, even if I wanted to do so, it can only be done during the weekends which I so need to rest or I have to go out to places which need money  [transport+eat+others].

So, yeah, better I convert it to something that requires less money....blogging? blog-hopping? reading? listening to N.A.K's and other beneficial vids so on so forth.

My previous blogs, I'd always jot down my activities  [recap: semasa bergelar pelajar]. When I read them again, first I'd slap myself for the terrible language usage  [which seems poorer up till now, haih!], then I would laugh to myself because of the funny things I used to do. Aah yeh yaadein hai T_T

I said to myself that i would keep this blog as informative as I could but.........Okay, I'll take this entry down later [or will I not? it's my blog ] so pardon me okay ? :)

p/s: kenapa feedjit jadi kaler pink2 ni? I zon't like! xdak tukar setting pun...huhu

till then,

Books that I purchased!

It's been a while since I last bought any leisure readings. The last few novels were purchased at the CarBoot Sale in Manchess=). Today I went to Kay Ell Chi Chi with my mom and our first stop was at: Kinokuniya. So, I bought these two:

A&B

A: Due to the phenomenal drama "Hani"....teheee~  [ I bought it at the ticket of a 'motivational' book, not a marriage book]

B: I love Jodi Picoult's novels. Because it points out love not in the mushy ewwwy lovey dovey kinda mode which is too vomit-ty for me....LOL....I read the synopsis behind the cover and saw the word "Asperger's Syndrome" and straight away took it. Hope I can read it sooooon!!!

p/s: AK, you have book A or not? want me to buy it for you?kui3

My survival training will start from today onwards. Let's see whether talking to the walls, the sliding door and the teddies would be 'fun' or not.

Travelling

I was blog-hopping just now and stumbled upon a popular blogger's blog. She wrote about her trip to dot3 country where she is travelling alone using her own money that she earned from her part time job throughout the whole 2010 [okay, siapa tahu blog sape sila diam2 saja]

My point is: I so want to do that! I've experienced travelling alone before and it was fun! well, provided that the place I'm aiming for should have someone I know to tour me around and provide me a place to crash at. Yes, I also know the fact that, it is not so good to travel alone for a girl [urghhh! you're not young anymore], I mean for a sophisticated lady but it's just something that I want to do. One thing's for sure though, I'll be doing my Masters alone inshaAllah so that counts as travelling alone too! [ayat sedap hati sendiri]

Anyhoos, I once did a mind-mapping of what I want to achieve [you know, just like what Fahri 'ayat2 cinta' did] and I did cloud "TRAVEL" in that map. The budget that I put in that cloud was, RM10K ....cukup x ek?

My imaginary travel tour would be in: either; NZ [as in New Zealand, not NZ curry house wangsa maju tuh!], Germany, Italy [ influenced by eah], Al-Hambra [ forgot the country, go google plizz], Switzerland, Spain [ I always assume that spain, germany and italy are the same countries, don't know why], Korea [ a bit difficult due to language constraints but no worries!], Canada [wanna find my long lost teacher back then in Glasgow] and last but not least, IRELAND!

So many countries ah! Must marry billionaire if I have such cravings mustn't I? dushhh!! That's just imaginary lah but bi'iznillah, might be one day I will be able to travel the whole world in 40 Days XD

Why didn't I put UK in my list? Because UK would be the place I'll be a PR so no need to travel there....hahahaha....so vain! If you see me wander around in Msia in 20years time, please invite me for a paintball game and shoot me as many as you can!   [ok, still in dreaming mode.......about to end............]

Back to reality. I have a longggg way to collect money. Priorities come first so travelling must wait. But I'll be patient, no biggies :)

Dream big, efforts must be bigger

Another reality, esok cuti weyh! alhamdulillah.....I received my first salary just now so was thinking to treat family to something yummeyh! FAMILY IS MY PRIORITY, period.

I'm back!

Assalamualaikum,

It's been a while. and prolly you have missd me *vain*. A big thank you to Zaboodee for taking care of S2S while I was away so there were no dust present :P. Anyways, some highlights:

work

I'm not the kind of person who takes "I don't know how to do this" that lightly. No matter how hard the task is, I always make myself "know" how to solve it eventually. It was a long practice during my uni years. SO, when I was blanked upon doing my working tasks, I sank into the well. [ kasi dramatic ckit :p]  Got so demotivated but alhamdulillah I managed to work things out after that. Hence, the depression era made me go into M.I.A mode or else god knows what I'll be ranting about here :D

kebabooooommmm!!!!

Wedding

It was a three days event last week. My cousin got married so we had to help around. Helped do the 'bunga telur' on Friday. Attended the solemnization process on Saturday evening and the reception was on Sunday. It was a themed reception and a first garden wedding for me. We all had to wear white which obviously I won't follow it....haha.....the best part about this family gathering would be the BIG QUESTION and the hooking ups. Ayyo headache jiddan! I gave a suggestion to propose to me this idea in 10 years time....lalalala

see the sunlight? it was so hotttt that day!

luckily got this cendol stall, not a cendol fan but just had to have it to quench the thirst:p [two mangkuk!]

the cake and cupcakes

Football

As everyone should be aware of, Malaysia won the AFF Suzuki Cup. Even better, the Prime Minister declared a Public Holiday for tomorrow, 31st December :D

That should do it for now. Hope everyone will enjoy your time in whatever you are doing provided it does not go against the Shariah! =)

Move on

I can almost see it
That dream I am dreaming
But there's a voice inside my head saying
"You'll never reach it"

Every step I'm taking
Every move I make feels
Lost with no direction
My faith is shaking

But I gotta keep trying
Gotta keep my head held high

There's always gonna be another mountain
I'm always gonna wanna make it move
Always gonna be a uphill battle
Sometimes I'm gonna have to lose

Ain't about how fast I get there
Ain't about what's waiting on the other side
It's the climb

The struggles I'm facing
The chances I'm taking
Sometimes might knock me down
But no, I'm not breaking

And I, I got to be strong
Just keep pushing on

[bits and pieces of 'The Climb']

Inspired from the late Mas Afzal who....until his last breath succeeded in keeping his faith in Allah....inspiring so many people that no matter how life knocks you down, you've gotta keep moving on....with the life Allah has given you itself is a priceless gift.

With life and everything that Allah has lent me......alhamdulillah

Recharge and let's keep moving on! ^^

Buat Kaum Muslimah~

Doa Khusus Elak Rogol & Cabul : Amalkanlah

FULL ENTRY

DALAM SEBUTAN RUMI : ALLAHUMMA IN KUNTA TA'LAMU INNI AAMANTU BIKA, WA BIRASULIKA WA AHSONTU FARJI ILLA 'ALA ZAWJI FALA TUSALLIT 'ALAYYA AL-KAFIR WA AZ-ZALIM

Do spread around to your fellow Muslimah family members, friends, etc

The Black Sheep

Another great talk by brother Nouman Ali khan, mashaAllah

TODAY YOU CAN, TOMORROW YOU CANNOT

In this short 26:18 minutes of video, he talks about how to deal with the situation when a person decides to change for the better cause. About a Muslim wanting to live the rightful way but how to deal with the people around him [nucleus, extended family, society in general ]. Should you obliged to people's acceptance that much?

Sometimes even our own people [extended family] don't/won't understand this and this, such and such so how? Just for an example: avoiding to shake hands with male cousins or uncles
 [ aunty's husband ] <---happens to many people I guess

So, take some time and listen to what N.A.K has to say ^^

mind the title :)

one thing is for sure, there's gonna be a lot of N.A.K's spazzing in this blog [ and also in former blog, teheeeee~~] because he's my new inspiration. His speeches are from his experience so it is so pure, no rigidity, very humbled, well-versed,easy to grasp,excetera2, inshaAllah so don't get bored yah?!
