Fruitful Holiday

Tomorrow will be resuming to normal activity.

Had a tremendous 4 days worth of holiday. Pashuwarya came, then family came, eat, spring-cleaning for the "new hosmet", feverish, "new hosmet" came, and just now we had our first household shopping...well, her stuffy of course...I've already introduced her to the "baik" people that I fell in love with. Introducing our new obsession:

Obie, aged 15 YO [cat's year]...a very big and fluffy and manja persian [maybe] cat...He has a twin brother, Simba...identical twins :D

All in all, alhamdulillah

For the days to come:

Umar bin Khattab (Radiallahu anhu): "To be alone means that you avoid bad company. But to have a true friend is better than being alone."

I will be having a new company at home. It will be like the old days during our hostel years....teheee :D

Paprika Masala

Pheww talk about whining like a three year old :D  [beelow beelow]

I've ladied up and I have two choices:

-resign and find another job ^^
-endure a bit longer and have faith in Him ^^

Both are good options though but that's not what I'm writing today. Was so hungry but was so busy with work till I practically had no time to eat decently. Only had Koko Crunch for Brunch. Around 5 PM-ish was shivering and couldn't do my work anymore so quickly cooked some rice on the stove and prepared above mentioned dish, randomly!

Jotting it down because I liked it:

-cut chicken slice into small pieces
-take out whatever spices you may find in the fridge  [Paprika& Garam Masala caught me eyes]
-chop some onions
-take out whatever veggies available
-Heat some oil
-stir onions+spices until the smell roses up
-pour some water and put the chicken in
- a lil bit of salt
-lastly, put in the veggies
-VOILA!

[ps: excuse my cooking language,lol]

I'm not an expert in cooking like my mom or grandmom [tsk tsk ] but I do know their secret. Put all your sincerity in the cooking and don't forget your Basmallah =). Plus, for me, "main campak2 je" will give you a yummylicious end result bi'iznillah! =)

Do try if you are in a hurry!

I came across two inspiring reminder today:

The reason we get overwhelmed when facing a problem is because we face it alone. Our first thought is *I* have to carry this. *I* have to figure this out. But that's just it. *I* am not going to carry this. *I* am not going to figure this out. *I* can't carry anything. *I* can't figure anything out. Give it to the One who can.   [Yasmin Mogahed]

"Sedikit yang mencukupi lebih baik daripada banyak yang melalaikan.. Siapa yang tidak sabar dengan kesusahan, sukar untuk syukur dengan kesenangan. Ya Allah, ingatkan kami agar sentiasa ingat kepada MU.."  [Ustaz Pahrol Mohamad Juoi]

Ameen

wordful wednesday

People who knows me well, know what profession I'm involved in and what environment I am in. Those whom do not know might find me either:

-unemployed
-not a dedicated employee  [lol, pun boleh kot]

Why so? Well, maybe because of the constant appearance of me in the FB's timeline [man I seriously hate the kepochi timeline!] liking a status/article or commenting whatever...

What they don't know is my working timezone that seems like 9-6 but it's actually 24/7  [and I kid you not on this!].

Overloaded with endless tasks make me wanna resort to something light...a simple reading or two. A funny joke from my former lecturer Kak Mei, a reminder from Sis.Yasmin or Sheikh Yahya or Ustaz AbdulBary, etc.

I'm going half crazy already but I am not the "giving up" person so I will LADY UP and force myself to work like a slave boss. My hand and fingers are numb and aching, my vision  power has increased and yay! panadol is my BFF....May Allah ease this for me a bit, ameen. May ikhlas is still with me,ameen T_T

Dear Me, please be patient. Lots of love, ME <3

[didn't attend this workshop...prolly I was upstairs or in another workshop but this is definitely something, ahem!]

[me,AK,AK's mom and sis...we were at the front row! awesome talk mashaAllah! =)]

Test

Attempting to blog via my phone. We'll see how it turns out later on.

Nothing much actually.Finished all my Sunday house chores yadi yada.

I was a bit disturbed by a scene I happened to witness just now.A father fed his toddler child his carbonated drink.Eventhough the child coughed a bit,he continued giving it to the child. I find the act so irresponsible.

Adults, please be wiser and reasonable.

-a concerned ex-drinker- (carbonated drinks ye...hehe)

BFTJ

I no longer have any BFFs...they only last here, in the temporary world. I now have.....jeng3 *drum rolls*

Top 5 regrets

I found this whilst tumblring.

Nurse reveals the top 5 regrets people make on their deathbed

For many years I worked in palliative care. My patients were those who had gone home to die. Some incredibly special times were shared. I was with them for the last three to twelve weeks of their lives. People grow a lot when they are faced with their own mortality.

I learnt never to underestimate someone’s capacity for growth. Some changes were phenomenal. Each experienced a variety of emotions, as expected, denial, fear, anger, remorse, more denial and eventually acceptance. Every single patient found their peace before they departed though, every one of them.
When questioned about any regrets they had or anything they would do differently, common themes surfaced again and again. Here are the most common five:

1. I wish I’d had the courage to live a life true to myself, not the life others expected of me.
This was the most common regret of all. When people realize that their life is almost over and look back clearly on it, it is easy to see how many dreams have gone unfulfilled. Most people had not honoured even a half of their dreams and had to die knowing that it was due to choices they had made, or not made.
It is very important to try and honour at least some of your dreams along the way. From the moment that you lose your health, it is too late. Health brings a freedom very few realise, until they no longer have it.

2. I wish I didn’t work so hard.
This came from every male patient that I nursed. They missed their children’s youth and their partner’s companionship. Women also spoke of this regret. But as most were from an older generation, many of the female patients had not been breadwinners. All of the men I nursed deeply regretted spending so much of their lives on the treadmill of a work existence. By simplifying your lifestyle and making conscious choices along the way, it is possible to not need the income that you think you do. And by creating more space in your life, you become happier and more open to new opportunities, ones more suited to your new lifestyle.

3. I wish I’d had the courage to express my feelings.
Many people suppressed their feelings in order to keep peace with others. As a result, they settled for a mediocre existence and never became who they were truly capable of becoming. Many developed illnesses relating to the bitterness and resentment they carried as result. We cannot control the reactions of others. However, although people may initially react when you change the way you are by speaking honestly, in the end it raises the relationship to a whole new and healthier level. Either that or it releases the unhealthy relationship from your life. Either way, you win.

4. I wish I had stayed in touch with my friends.
Often they would not truly realise the full benefits of old friends until their dying weeks and it was not always possible to track them down. Many had become so caught up in their own lives that they had let golden friendships slip by over the years. There were many deep regrets about not giving friendships the time and effort that they deserved. Everyone misses their friends when they are dying. It is common for anyone in a busy lifestyle to let friendships slip. But when you are faced with your approaching death, the physical
details of life fall away. People do want to get their financial affairs in order if possible. But it is not money or status that holds the true importance for them. They want to get things in order more for the benefit of those they love. Usually though, they are too ill and weary to ever manage this task. It is all comes down to love and relationships in the end. That is all that remains in the final weeks, love and relationships.

5. I wish that I had let myself be happier.
This is a surprisingly common one. Many did not realise until the end that happiness is a choice. They had stayed stuck in old patterns and habits. The so-called ‘comfort’ of familiarity overflowed into their emotions, as well as their physical lives. Fear of change had them pretending to others, and to their selves, that they were content. When deep within, they longed to laugh properly and have silliness in their life again. When you are on your deathbed, what  others think of you is a long way from your mind. How wonderful to be able to let go and smile again, long before you are dying.

Life is a choice. It is YOUR life. Choose consciously, choose wisely, choose honestly. Choose happiness.

One of the speakers that really touched me with his speech was Sheikh Navaid Aziz. Before TOF I never heard of this name at all so alhamdulillah for the opportunity to know such a great man.

I would like to share with you a video of Sheikh Navaid giving his speech i found in youtube. Such a profound video. It made my heart wept T_T

~He who has no one has Allah. He who has Allah has everything~

This life is a test from Allah. Both calamities and blessings are test from Allah. We should be both patient and grateful and Allah will give glad tidings to us.

"And We will surely test you with something of fear and hunger and a loss of wealth and lives and fruits, but give good tidings to the patient, (155) Who, when disaster strikes them, say, "Indeed we belong to Allah, and indeed to Him we will return." (156) Those are the ones upon whom are blessings from their Lord and mercy. And it is those who are the [rightly] guided. (157)"    [Al-Baqarah: 155-157 ]

This was shared by a friend of mine in FB regarding single men and ladies. I remembered what Dr.Harlina Halizah said when a sister asked a question during the workshop [TOF]. She asked about is it wrong if a sister stays single because she wants to achieve her dreams first? [well it goes something like that] and Dr. replied it is not wrong for a lady to still be single due to that matter but one must not block or close their hearts toward accepting the idea of entering marriage or finding a partner when the right time comes. And we must continuously repair and improve our relationship with Allah.

Me? No comment     *better safe than sorry*
